Windsor's Last Four Market Sundays Are Built for a Winter Pantry

November 5, 2026

The Windsor Certified Farmers Market has four Sundays left in its 25th season, and then the Town Green goes quiet. The market's 2026 calendar ends with a Market Finale on Dec. 6, two weeks after Thanksgiving Tastings on Nov. 22. By now the farm tables at 701 McClelland Drive have turned toward food that keeps: winter squash, dried garlic, fall apples, heritage pork, sourdough, and jars. The market stocks its longest-lasting goods in the weeks right before it shuts down for winter.

Four Sundays, Counted From Here

The market moved its Sunday hours this year. In 2025, Town of Windsor calendar listings had it running 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For 2026 the market calls its hours new: 9:00 to 12:30. Closing time stayed the same, so every Sunday now has an extra half hour at the front, which helps on the cold mornings at the end of the season.

Here is what remains, counted from Thursday, Nov. 12:

Sunday What's on the market calendar Where it falls in the holidays
Nov. 15 Regular market, 9:00 to 12:30 Eleven days before Thanksgiving
Nov. 22 Thanksgiving Tastings with holiday recipes and a Kidz Dig It cooking class The Sunday before Thanksgiving on Nov. 26
Nov. 29 Regular market Thanksgiving weekend
Dec. 6 2026 Market Finale The last Sunday market of the year

The Kidz Dig It Club is the market's program for children from preschool age through 12. Its cooking classes run from 10:30 to 11:30, so families heading to the Nov. 22 class can plan the rest of their shopping around that hour.

What the Late-Season Tables Carry

Summer at this market means melons, corn, and the Thursday night crowds. The market's own vendor directory shows how much that changes in fall. Several growers say outright that they arrive late in the year or bring crops that only show up late. Many of those crops last for weeks after you buy them.

  • Winset's West Dry Creek Apples. Don Winset joins the Windsor market in the fall with apples from his second-generation farm at 2571 W. Dry Creek Road in Healdsburg. The varieties include Jonathan, Fuji, Braeburn, Granny Smith, Rome and Gravenstein.
  • Krout's Sunset Ranch. The directory calls it a garlic expert, with 12 types of dried garlic, plus winter squash and cooking pumpkins.
  • Ridgeview Farm. A six-acre, third-generation Healdsburg family farm that has sold at markets for 38 years. Its list includes heirloom apples, pears and winter squash.
  • Sayre Farms. A small Windsor farm that hunts down rare and unusual varieties and lists fall squash among its crops.
  • Soda Rock Farms. A Healdsburg family farm that specializes in heirloom tomatoes in the fall: Big Rainbow, Purple Cherokee, Brandywine, Green Zebra and San Marzano romas. It also sells bottled marinara in an heirloom blend or a San Marzano version.
  • Takenoko Farms. A second-generation farm on Starr Road in Windsor that raises pasture-raised heritage pork. It sells roasts, chops, bacon, hams and 10 kinds of link sausage.
  • Sporgy Mushrooms. Comes to the Sunday market in spring and fall.

Put that list together and you have most of a winter kitchen. Squash and dried garlic hold up in a cool pantry. Apples hold up in the crisper. Pork goes in the freezer. And the farms behind them are close to home: Takenoko is a Windsor address, and three of the others list Healdsburg.

The Shelf-Stable Half of the Market

Past the produce, the Sunday food makers fill the gap that opens after Dec. 6. The vendor page lists a group of makers it identifies as Sunday regulars.

Reza's Breadery brings sourdough every week from its breadery in the hills of Willits, where Reza has made his own starter-based bread for more than 25 years. The market also points shoppers to his pizza dough. Italian Corner comes every other week with fresh pasta, frozen sauces, and frozen meals such as lasagna and eggplant parm. Its wild boar pasta sauce is listed as a market favorite. Maison Porcella, also every other week, brings pâté, rillettes, chicken liver mousse and a potato tourte. It also has a restaurant in Windsor at 8499 Old Redwood Highway, Unit 114.

Then there are the jars. Wine Country Preserves, a Windsor cottage food producer, makes apple and pear butters, balsamic fig jam and a Pinot Noir grape jelly, and gives a discount for returned jars. Geyserville Gourmet sells sauerkraut salad, pickled beets and marinated mushrooms. Crazy Honey brings its honeys on Sundays. Swetty Betty's Spice Rubs carries rubs and seasoning mixes, including a crab soup mix.

These are the goods that make the Nov. 22 and Dec. 6 markets useful for gifts too. Trini's Sweets, run by a Windsor resident who graduated from the WHS Culinary Academy, sells cookies packaged for gifting along with conchas and small pies.

The directory doesn't promise that any given vendor will be there on a given Sunday. The farms that list fall crops and the makers listed for Sundays are the best guide to who will be on the Green in these last weeks. For week-to-week updates, the market points shoppers to its Facebook page and its Instagram.

Brunch Still Comes First

A Sunday market morning in Windsor still starts with breakfast, even in late November. Charlie's BBQ works both the Sunday and Thursday markets with BBQ chicken thighs, tri-tip and pulled pork. Crepes du Jour serves sweet and savory crepes, including the traditional lemon, butter and sugar. Panchita's makes Mexican breakfast burritos, quesadillas and tacos to order on Sundays. Espressioso's Coffee roasts beans it selects from coffee farmers in Mexico and sells at the Sunday market.

The Town's Parks and Recreation crew also runs a bike valet at the market, and the market says it handles more than 100 bikes a week.

After Dec. 6, the Market Moves to Saturday

After the finale, nothing nearby fills Windsor's Sunday slot this winter. Windsor's 2026 season opened on April 12 and runs through Dec. 6. The two closest markets with winter dates both run on Saturdays.

Market Day and hours Season Location
Healdsburg Farmers Market Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to noon April 11 to Dec. 19, 2026 Foley Family Community Pavilion, 3 North Street
Santa Rosa Original Certified Farmers Market Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Year-round Luther Burbank Center
Santa Rosa Original Certified Farmers Market Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March through December Luther Burbank Center

Healdsburg's Saturday market keeps going for two more Saturdays after Windsor's finale and closes Dec. 19. After that, the Saturday market at the Luther Burbank Center is the year-round option for north county shoppers. Squash, garlic, apples and frozen pork bought on the Town Green in late November will carry a kitchen well into the weeks when the closest market is on a different day in a different town.

Two Doors Down From the Green

Once the market packs up at 12:30, Windsor Road has two newer stops. Trecini Winery opened its tasting room at 9071 Windsor Road in Town Green Village on Sept. 25, in the 1,100-square-foot space Bellacana used to occupy. It has 22 indoor seats plus some outdoor seating, the Press Democrat reported. Kyle and Christina Cameron, who farm wine grapes and acquired the brand in April 2025, have moved Trecini to estate-grown grapes. In the same report, Christina Cameron said most of the family's vineyards are in Windsor.

Across from the SMART station, Spur Saloon opened in August at 9000 Windsor Road, in the former Windsor Brewing Co. space. Eric Foster and Christina Keeney Foster own the country-Western restaurant and bar, according to Sonoma Magazine.

Back on the Green, the Dec. 6 finale ends with the market's own sign-off: "See you next year!"
